Tutu Jones

Picture a small child answering a knock at the door and upon opening that door, staring up open mouthed at the imposing figure of a man filling a doorway, silhouetted by the sun, the light nearly blocked by his presence. Such an event might leave an impression on any youngster especially when that child -- Tutu Jones -- discovered the figure was the legendary Freddie King!.

Tutu Jones was raised in South Dallas, his father was Johnny B. a respected musician in the Dallas area. When Tutu Jones was young, musicians like Freddie King, Ernie Johnson, Little Joe Blue and his uncle L. C. Clark would visit his family for some down-home jamming.

Tutu Jones started out on drums and guitar, cutting his teeth as the drummer for the touring bands of Z.Z. Hill, Al " TNT" Braggs, Ernie Johnson and Little Joe Blue. It was Little Joe who encouraged Tutu Jones to play the guitar after he caught him fooling around with one backstage.
