Miss FortuneBoston pop-rock craftsmen Miss Fortune bring their beautifully intense live performance to New York The band recently celebrated its first anniversary (May, 2000) with the release of a promotional single ("Day Gets Brighter" b/w "Disappear") from their forthcoming debut album. Miss Fortune's self-titled album will be released in summer 2000 on singer Ryan Link's startup label, What Kinda Records.
Arguably Boston's most determined new rock vocalist, Link brings a passionate, soulful delivery to pop songs with staying power. Songwriter/guitarist Jay Barclay, the band's founder, and singer/songwriter Link, who joined in March 1999, strive for interesting melodies and expressive lyrics, avoiding musical gimmickry and flash-in-the-pan trends. The band, including bassist Jon Hindmarsh and drummer Chris Hobbick, are also dynamic performers and put on a spirited live rock show.
