About the artists: Carrie Bilbo’s work focuses on patterns and forms expressed in the natural world as she aims to create pieces that are wearable sculptures. She combines a variety of scraps found in the natural world with finely crafted porcelain and precious metals. Bilbo’s work has appeared in several fashion magazines, exhibitions, down New York City runaways, and on celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg and Isabelle Fuhrman. www.carriebilbo.com Casey Sobel comes to the Brooklyn Navy Yard from rural New Jersey and a family full of welders, carpenters, and craftspeople who taught her a love and appreciation for the handmade object. Since graduating from Pratt Institute, Sobel has worked with several designers such as Catbird, Alex Sepkus, and Cartier, and has been featured in several publications including Architectural Digest and Swarovski’s Gem Visions trend book. Her work has also been featured in several exhibitions and she has work in the permanent collection of the Museum of Arts and Design, NY.
