May-29-15 07:00 PM Misty Blues Gina Coleman, lead singer and founder of the band Misty Blues began her blues career as a gospel and folk rock singer. After landing a role in the 1999 Williamstown Theatre Festival production of A Raisin In The Sun, she received overwhelmingly positive criticism for her voice and was thus inspired to sing classical blues. Coleman recruited her former bandmates guitarist Jason Webster and bassist Bill Patriquin of the band Cole-Connection, as well as musicians Jeff Dudziak, Benny Kohn, and Kali Baba McConnell to form Misty Blues. Together, the band pays homage to blues music of the 20's, 30's, and 40's while maintaining their roots in gospel and folk rock, creating a unique blues-fusion sound.
