Covered in this training will be the Elements of Effective Practice, the industry's nationally accepted best practice standards for the development of youth mentoring programs that have proven effective in a wide range of existing mentoring strategies.  Participants will: Learn about the Elements of Effective Practice Have the opportunity to buy a copy of MENTOR's Elements of Effective Practice Toolkit, containing more than 200 tools and templates for effective mentoring program design Understand the planning aspects of developing a mentoring program, and the key roles of staff in ensuring that mentoring relationships are meaningful, sustainable, and fun for youth served Leave with initial plans for their organization's mentoring program development There is a RESERVATION fee for this workshop, this fee will be refunded to you once you've attended the class (or if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance).

This Bronx neighborhood is teeming with Italian bakeries, specialty shops, fish markets, butcher shops and more. You’ll learn about the history of Belmont and Fordham Roads and the immigrants from Italy, Ireland and other locations who helped form the neighborhood’s local history. Then visit the thriving business district of Little Italy to sample culinary treats. Your group and guide will meet at Grand Central Station, then take an easy train ride to the Bronx to check out — or rediscover — this vital section of the borough.
