Hezekiah Walker
The day was February 5, 1994. The place, the Martin Luther King International Chapel located on the campus of the historic Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. History was in the making as over 2500 people jammed into the chapel to witness this news-making event (another 300 to 400 were turned away). The event, the live recording and video for Hezekiah Walker and The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir's third Benson release, entitled Live In Atlanta, At Morehouse College.
For Hezekiah, it will be an evening that he'll always remember. "It was wonderful," says Hezekiah. "First of all, the place was jam-packed. The excitement that filled the air that night, to see Atlanta show up and support us the way they did, was just great for myself and the choir. We totally fed off the energy the crowd generated in that place, which I feel is reflected on the recording."
The excitement was further heightened with the Atlanta Mayor's office proclaiming February 5th as Hezekiah Walker Day, along with the Georgia House of Representatives presenting proclamations in Hezekiah's Honor. "I was happy to be at Morehouse and in Atlanta," Hezekiah reflects. It was a privilege for me to be there in honor of Black History Month and more so, to record a gospel album there. The concert recording and video will be placed in a 100 year Time Capsule of Events at Morehouse College. History was made on February 5th!
In Addition, the memorable evening was also blessed with performances by the soulfully-dynamic group Commissioned and the incomparable BeBe Winans. BeBe performed with Monique Walker, Hezekiah's wife, in a soul-stirring duet entitled, He's On Your Side. Commissioned collaborated with Hezekiah and the choir on the songI Will Go In Jesus' Name.

Live In Atlanta, At Morehouse College should only further the success and notoriety Walker and The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir gained from their previous smash hit album, Live In Toronto.
The Success of Live In Toronto garnered Walker three 1993 Stellar Award nominations; a
1993 Vision Award; two 1994 Dove Award nominations; along with the #3 position on
Billboard magazine's Gospel sales chart.
